ABRAR AND SAAD RECEIVE WORLD HIGHEST O`LEVEL MARKS
Abrar Rahman, an 11th grader, has received
a World Highest score in Mathematics A and a Country Highest score in
Economics. He received a score of 100/100 in Maths A whereas he fell a little
short of full marks in Economics, achieving 116/120.
At the same time, Saad Ahmed, another 11th
grader, has received a Country Highest score in Bengali, receiving a
staggering, almost never heard of, 92/100.
Results like this coming for the ITHS Boys
Class of 2017 is not unexpected, as this class has always been both
academically competitive and competent in extracurricular activities. Such a
top notch environment certainly assisted both Saad and Abrar in getting their
respective scores. Their class, while not producing any more highest grades,
was certainly extremely successful in their IGCSE’s, with almost 10 students
receiving 90+ marks in subjects like Pure Mathematics, Mathematics B,
Chemistry, and Physics. However, the teachers deserve the true credits for this
feat. The teachers of ITHS have been pivotal for not only Saad and Abrar’s, but
also the whole class’s success in IGCSE. They did not merely teach the
students, but also led a formative role in the holistic development of every
student.
Our teachers certainly support Nicholas
Sparks’s words about educators from his novel, Dear John,
- “They
inspire you, they entertain you, and you end up learning a ton even when you
don't know it”
Heart-felt congratulations go out to both
students for their results, and hopefully come next December we’ll once again
hear of similar results from the students of ITHS Boys Class of 2017.
MEVLANA UNIVERSITY SEMINAR
There must come a time in every student’s
life where he or she must start considering his further education. Thankfully,
Turkish Hope School helps us in making this decision by organizing multiple
university seminars as it understands the importance of such decisions. Just a
few weeks ago, we had an insightful seminar for Mevlana University
Mevlana University is situated in Konya
city in Turkey, easily accessible from other cities and most commonly known as
‘The City of Sufism”. We were informed regarding many of its statistics, such
as the fact that they accept only 400 students, 300 of them are international
from 70 different countries, allowing you to befriend people of different
nationalities and cultures. They also boast a male to female ratio of 40% to
60%, and has separate dorms for each gender.
We were also surprised to learn that ,
there are so many perks and features for the students such as free
transportation within the city itself, labs equipped with cutting edge devices,
smaller class sizes so that the students can get one on one attention, sports
hall with a fitness center, high tech medical facility with over 400 beds,
campus wide wireless network, and most importantly, cooperation with industries
which can aid you in finding jobs.
“Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela.
I
believe our school is a firm believer of this quote, as it is helping us in
deciding our future, thus giving us the power to change the world for the
better.
VICTORY DAY CELEBRATION
Victory day is the most glorious day of
Bangladesh. It is a day of pride and pleasure for our nation. This day reminds
us of the patriotism of our people for the motherland. Behind this lies the
history of sweaty struggles of the nation. We observe the day every year in a
befitting manner to commemorate our valiant freedom fighters who sacrificed
their lives for the liberation of our country.
The International Turkish Hope School was
proud to organize Victory Day Celebration of Bangladesh on the 19th December,
2015 at the school auditorium.
A short cultural program was arranged to
celebrate the glorious occasion. The program was performed by the students of
ITHS. The participants took part in singing of patriotic bangla songs,
recitation of poem and staging a drama as a tribute to the blood stained
victory of the liberation war of Bangladesh. The program created a vivid image
in the minds of the viewers of the pain and sacrifice for the nation made by
our heroes and the joy of gaining victory in 1971.
DEBATE COMPETITION
A panel of adjudicators made up of Mr. Md.
Bazlul Karim, Mr. Sanjar Bekchanov and Mr. Nayeem Uddin Ahmed adjudged the
competition. The programme was graced by the section head, Mr. Zubeyir Bayram
along with other dignitaries of ITHS.
The budding debaters displayed confidence and
unflappability in asserting their arguments before the audience. It was very
evident that all the contestants were well equipped and they exhibited their
views and contentions competently and convincingly. All the participants put in
tremendous efforts to showcase their eloquence and latent talent in course of
debating. It was a very vibrant session and a keen contest. Opposition team comprising
Usaid Sayan, Nayeem Ahmed, Ali Sartaz Khan and Arian Fardin picked up their
coveted victory. We congratulated the winning team for the laudable
achievement. ITHS thinks that such competitions will be held more frequently to
enhance the oratorical skills of the students.
