On the 19th of January 2013, International Turkish Hope School made their very first winter camp to U.S.A. The program consisted of visiting two different cities in America via Turkey. Since it was the very first time such a large program was taking place, there were six students participating in it, accompanied by the English Language Teacher Erkan Cuce.

The first part of the trip consisted of visiting Istanbul, a city made famous for its large beautiful mosques and countless beautiful monuments. The first beautiful sight at Istanbul seen by the students was from a cliff behind the school called Fatih Koleji, a sister school to Turkish Hope School, where they resided.
It was a few moments before sunrise, and the whole city looked as if it was waking up after the last night. Though it was rather cold, the view from that cliff would leave the students speechless and anxious to discover the true beauty of the city. Firstly the panorama, a circular structure with a three dimensional aspect of the Byzantinian conquest was visited. Next several large mosques, including Sultan Ahmet Mosque and Ayub Sultan Mosque were visited, there historical importance being explained to the students by their teacher Mr. Erkan, him being a native of those lands. Furthermore, Topkapi Palace, a museum that contains Sacred Relics, attires and weapons of Islamic History and other belonging of our beloved prophet, his followers and the sultans who had lived, conquered and ruled Byzantine for over a thousand years. After visiting some other ineffable places among the countless tourist attracting and historical places, the final site visited in Istanbul was the Marmara Sea through Bosporus excursion by a ferry at evening time. The whole city of Istanbul could be seen in the two hour trip and Istanbul at night seemed lit up and turned into a place that words cannot describe. The students set off for America on the 24th of January. The next city to be visited on the list was New York. This city, everyone had been waiting to see. It was their first time in the United States and so, the trip was more special to them. The first site visited was Manhattan. Here they firstly visited the Museum of National Arts & History, known to most of us from the movie "Night at the Museum". Next, the students went ice skating. This was their first time at it, and everyone had a historic falls trying it. Furthermore, a ferry trip through New York, around the statue of liberty was taken. The final site visited was the empire state building, an American monument that had a lot of history in it from the time it was being built, to the present times, it being the tallest building in America. The final day in New York, they had watched an NBA Match of Brooklyn and Orlando at the Brooklyn Stadium, which has encouraged all of them to try playing basketball. On the 27th January everyone arrived at Los Angeles, the city of Hollywood, the town of success and failure of stars. The first site visited was Universal Studio, the place where the biggest directors did their work and best films were made. Secondly Hollywood Blv. was visited, a mountain where the sign of Hollywood stood. The last site visited was sea world where there were several molester's and entertainment programs by water animals. Lastly, celebrate a successful programme, a barbecue party was undertaken, before returning home from a wonderful, unforgettable journey.
