CAREER DAY EVENT AT ITHS

Following its tradition of organizing a Career Day once in a month for its students, International Turkish Hope School has observed another career day on Monday, 5th December, 2016.

#ITHS is honored to have Lieutenant General Md. Mahfuzur Rahman (rcds, ndc, afwc, psc, PhD), the Principal Staff Officer under Prime Minister’s Office, as the Key Note Speaker and the Resource Person this time. The honorable guest has discussed with students the effects ofethnocentrism and leadership qualities necessary for any individual to succeed. Through a meticulously prepared presentation, he has provided the students an insight into the various ways one can evaluate perceptions based on culture and understanding. He also enthused on the importance of standing firm on one’s beliefs and morals irrespective of the risks, and inspired the students to come forward to serve the country.

The seminar concluded by Mr. Yavuz Koca, Principal of ITHS and Mr. Bedrettin Suata, the Chairman of ITHS presenting a crest to the Honorable guest.

ISD INTER-SCHOOL BADMINTON TOURNAMENT-2016

International School Dhaka organized a two days Inter-school Badminton Tournament for High school students, (2^nd & 3^rd December 2016). Along with the host school, about 50 boys and girls from ITHS and AISD participated in this tournament. The categories were- DOUBLES, SINGLES and TEAM event. ITHS team A became the cup champions of team event. And ITHS team B became plate champion. In single Ahsraful Rushad Nabil stood on the 1^st position and in Boys Doubles category, Rakib Hasan and Ahsraful Nabil stood on the 1^st position.

Athletics Director ,Mr. Philip Graham, distributed the rewards to the winners at the end of tournament.

AKSD FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Aga Khan School organized a football  tournament AIFT on the 4th and 5th of November. Eight schools participated in three catagories.ITHS participated in all three catagories.Under-19,16,14. U-19 lost in penaty-shootout at the semi-finals. Under-16 also lost in penaty-shootout  at the semi-finals. ITHS under-14 was the unbeaten champion of the under-14 category. The best defender award was given to Zihan, the top scorer award was given to  Shoheb, And the  MVP award was given to Ahsanul Karim the prizes were distributed by the vice-principal of Aga Khan school amongst the winner.

FACTORY VISIT < BUSINESS ACTIVITIES >

Department of Business made an arrangement of factory visit on November 06, 2016 for Class 9 business students. Our business trip was headed by Mr. Mazharul Hoque; Mr. Jaherul Islam Rabbi and Mr. Nadim. The name of the factory was SB Knitting Ltd; New EPZ; Bipal; Savar. Our trip started at 10am in the morning. We were excited for the trip. It took two hours to reach in the factory. We had some refreshment at the room of managing director, and then the manager took us to visit the factory.Students saw different processes of knitting, which were situated in different floors. First we saw the cutting of clothes, then the making of requirements by the buyers. At the end we went to see how they packet the clothes. We took some pictures and went to Hasin Raihan Siddique’s (student of class 9-C) farmhouse. We took rest and went for swimming. We played football and then had our lunch. The evening was really exciting so we had tea and some snacks. Then we got ready to go back home.

ANOTHER CAREER DAY SEMINAR..

Abrar Rahman Protyasha and Tanvir Shahriar shared their experiences in their road to the Universities, and gave suggesstions to the Grade 9 students. Students got to know what is waiting for them in their 3-4 years High School life. Hope they got their lessons from the seminar and take an action immediately for their own future..

VICTORY DAY INTER-SCHOOL BADMINTON TOURNAMENT-2016

International Turkish Hope School organized a two days Badminton Tournament for category 9 to 12 and 6 to 8 grade students. Along with the host school, almost 80 boys and girls from different schools participated in this tournament. The participating schools were- Scholastica Uttara, Aga Khan School, SouthBreeze, Summerfield and Scholastica Mirpur. The categories were- DOUBLES, SINGLES and MIX DOUBLES. Khayrul Islam and Tuba stood on the 1^st position on singles category of 9 to 12. Mr. Zubeyir Bayram, the Head of Section of ITHS, distributed the rewards to the winners at the end of tournament.

Mr. Younus Ali, the sports director of ITHS, thanks to all participating schools for their kind appreciation on this tournament.

ITHS U-15 AND U-17 BECAME CHAMPION IN PHIFT

Pledge Harbour School organized a two days long football tournament for under-15 and under-17 age categories. Along with the host team 9 other teams participated in the two different age categories.

ITHS under-15 won the semi-final against host team by 2 goals and ITHS under-15 scored 4 goals in the final match against South Breeze and became the unbeaten champion of Pledge Harbor Inter-school Football Tournament 2016. Zihan Hasan from ITHS received the best defender award and Soyaib from ITHS was the top scorers of under-15 age category.

On the other hand ITHS under-17 beat PHIS under-17 by 4 goals in semifinal and won the final against DPS by 4 goals where Said Onur Soyar scored a stunning hat-trick. Ishraq Rafin became the best goal keeper for his amazing saves throughout the tournament and Ariful Amin was the top scorer by scoring 6 mind-blowing goals.

The tournament ended by the prize distribution ceremony where the chief guest was chairperson of PHIS and principal thanked all the participating teams

INTER-CLASS BADMINTON TOURNAMENT 2016

Last 6th November an Inter-class badminton tournament took place in ITHS indoor which was arranged by the athletic director Md Younus Ali. 32 students participated from class 9 to 12. From the competitive group stage Ahmed Jarif Tajware, Ashraful Rushed Nabil, Khayrul Islam Sarker and Fayaz Faisal made their way to semi-finals.

In the first semi-finals Khairul comfortably won against Faisal however in second semi-final Jarif had to fight hard to beat Nabil. Khairul earned the honour of becoming champion beating Jarif by direct set in final. Jarif was runner up and Nabil won the award of 3rd place holder.

Zubeyir Bayram (Head of Senior Boys Section) distributed the prizes among the winners and the tournament ended peacefully.

‘IMAGINE Write Creatively’ comes to ITHS

The ‘Imagine Write Creatively’,a writing workshop designed to foster in students a love of writing creatively ,was held on Thursday, November 3^rd in the ITHS Auditorium at International Turkish Hope School.

A joint-initiative of the Daily Star and United International University (UIU),the creative writing workshop began with a welcome speech by Mr. Yavuz Koca,the Vice Principal of ITHS and Dr. Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, the Pro Vice Chancellor of UIU. The workshop, which was also attended by the chairman of ITHS, Mr. Bedrettin Suata was conducted by Sharmin Sultana, Lecturer and Coordinator of English Language Institute at UIU, Naziba Basher and Mahejabeen Hossain Nidhi of the Daily Star.

The two-hour long programme saw enthusiastic students enhancing their understanding of the core principles of fiction writing and implementing those techniques through a series of interactive games.

IQ COMPETITION

Grade 6-9 had joined ‘The General IQ Competition’ on 1st November 2016. The aim of the IQ Competition is to know the level the students in reasoning, comprehension, and judgment. And after all, to make better teams for Inter-School and International competitions. First three degrees will be awarded with Academic Excellence Certificates.

BUSINESS IDEA GENERATION

Senior teachers from Business Department of International Turkish Hope School Mr. Mazharul Hoque and Mr. Jaherul Islam Rabby organized an interesting Business Activity with O’ Level business students. This activity was about coming out with a new business idea and advertising that idea so that it can be obviously sold and profit can be made out of that idea or product.

So the topic of the activity was E- Commerce. E- Commerce is the online business of buying and selling goods or services via websites. This kind of business is extremely important and helpful for both consumers and traders. One main advantage for consumers is that it is much more convenient and easy to purchase goods or services, usually done from home or offices.

In this Business Activity, business students were divided into groups. Each group made presentation to support and give an idea about the business they have come up with. On October 18, 2016 the competition was held at the Multimedia Room in the main campus. The presence of senior students made the event enjoyable. In the judge panel there were Mr. Miquat Hassan, Mr. Sakib Islam, Mr. Jaherul Islam Rabby and Mr. Mazharul Hoque. Each group presented their innovative online shopping idea. The question answer session made the event interactive. Mr. Shameem reza (Deputy head) also joined in the event and it was a extra value addition for the event. After tough competition Group#2 Ifath farazy, Ahbab Hossain got the top score and become champion
