This year we attended but none of our students could score enough to be in the first three.

Next year we are going to participate again.

Scholarship Exams

Our teachers are on duty on weekends and they go to different parts of the country and give scholarship exams to select some bright students like the ones already studying with scholarship in our school. These scholarship exams were given more than ten different places in the past three weeks.

Eid Ul Adha Meat Distribution

We have sacrificed 930 cows this year on Eid al Adha.
And the meat has been distributed to the poor in over 100 different places of the country.
Thanks to Turkish Businessmen, Turkish NGO Kimse Yok mu and all the Bangladeshi brothers helped us for the organization and distribution.

Dear Students

Starting from today you are not allowed to bring any kind of electronic equipment (mobile phones, Ipods, mp3-mp4 players, laptops,netbooks, pda`s and so on) to school unless you have a special permission from a subject teacher or the school administration.

Please note that it is a disciplinary offence to have a mobile phone, mp3 player or any other electronic equipment during the school hours, even if they are switched off.

Turkish Prime Minister H.E. Recep Tayyib Erdogan visited International Turkish Hope School as the final destination of his visit to Bangladesh at 4:00 p.m. on November 14, Sunday.

Turkish Prime Minister and his spouse Emine Erdogan were accompanied by HE Ali Babacan – Minister of State and Deputy Prime Minister, HE Mehmet Aydin – Minister of State and Co-chair of Turkey –Bangladesh Joint Commission for Trade, Economis & Technical Cooperation, HE Mehmet Simsek – Minister of Finance, HE Taner Yildiz – Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, three Turkish Parliament Members, Prime Minister’s Advisors, Miss Sumeyye Erdogan – Daughter of Prime Minister, Mrs. Aydin – Spouse of Minister of State, Mrs. Simsek – Spouse of Minister of Finance, Mrs. Yıldız – Spouse of Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh.

OUR FOOTBALL FIELD IS ALMOST READY

Our football field will be ready soon after the nets which will be placed all around the field is set.

The field redesigned and elevated from the ground about a half meter and a water drainage system has been placed under the grass.

TOURNAMENT INFO

The first tournament we have participated this year was in Agakhan School on the last weekend.
We were eliminated and could not continue after three games.
First game was against Agakhan team and we lost the game 2 -1 on Friday.
We played against B.I.T. team as the second game and the score was one-all on Saturday.
As the third game and a final chance to get through to semi finals we played against Scholastica team and lost that game also with a really disappointing goal.Final score was 1-0.

This results showed us that our team needs practicing more.We knew that we were not ready because our players did not play together much.Looking ahead we must change our game strategy and technique or lets say to formulate a strategy.

We will also need more support and supporters during the games and tournaments from all administration, teachers, students.

INFORMATION SESSION WITH CANADIAN EDUCATION CENTRE

Mr. Mel Broitman, Director, International Outreach, Canadian Education Center with his counselors have visited our school and held an informative session with students studying in classes 9 to 12.

Mr. Mel has made a presentation about universities in Canada. Presentation has covered application procedures, entry requirements to universities, types of scholarships available, and life in Canada.
Students have asked various questions concerning a number of issues including climate, criteria for academic proficiency, availability of need based scholarships and etc.

Mr. Yavuz thanked to Canadian Education Center for their informative session. Program ended at 11:30 am.

IAS 2009 UNSW Gold Medal Winners Ceremony

Last Thursday night there was a program to felicitate the students of different schools in Bangladesh who had participated IAS 2009 and won medals from the University of New South Wales and Macmillan.
We were also invited because we had a student who was going to get a medal as a Regional Topper in Science subject.
Our student from Grade 9 Tahsinul Huq had an excellent success in Science subject among the students participated from all countries.

He has got the first position in Science among over 200,000 students from 5300 schools.

ITHS has also been given a remembrance by the organization in appreciation of our participation in IAS 2009 which was collected by Mr. Kemal YAVUZ.

The program was followed by a dinner.We stayed for the dinner and ate the well cooked chicken with Kemal sir who has insisted to stay for the dinner.

Mr.YAVUZ KOCA VISITS MONASH UNIVERSITY

Monash University invited some international schools from all over world for a 1 week program called "International Career Advisors Familiarization Program" organized by "The Future Students" department to give information about the career opportunities they provide.

The university invited ITHS as the only school has been invited from Bangladesh.

O&A Level Coordinator Mr.Yavuz Koca went to Australia to join the event representing ITHS.
